Well, I have down loaded ever driver that Acer has published for the ENE card reader. No mater which one is installed they show up as working in device manager but the drive does not appear in 'computer'. I have installed in compatibility mode both the x86 and the 64 bit versions. I have set the folders view to show empty drives. The system does give a confirmation 'ding' when inserting and and ejecting, and the card reader does show up in the 'safely remove hardware list' I just have not found any way to make it visible.

Drivers I am having trouble installing a card reader driver on my Acer Aspire 5050. The memory card reader is ENE CB714 Cardbus/MediaReader Controller. The ENE Technology website has no links or downloads for their drivers. Here is what Microsoft Fix It came up with (screen shot below).

Drivers I used to run XP before switching over and have never ran vista. The XP drivers for this device worked great from the Acer website. I have downloaded the Vista drivers now and tried them both in regular mode and then after again in compatibility mode (Vista SP1).

I bought an Acer Aspire series laptop with authorized windows 7 home premium. Everything worked fine. Windows 10 was offered as a free upgrade.
Post the upgrade the SD card reader is not working. Tried the standard hacks like unhiding device folders, installing the realtek sd card reader driver etc. Nothing works.
The USB device reader works fine and the flash drives open. I purchased a USB extender with multiple USB ports and multiple SD / SDHC and micro SD card reader slots.
Even the Extender is not recognized by windows 10. Not sure why none of the community provided support responses work!!!
